We are a group of 6 women that are all entering the field of communication.  We all have different backgrounds and brought varying ideas to the table.

I am a Communication Studies major pursuing a career in the marketing and advertising industry. I love networking with others and hope to work for a sustainable brand or company to help promote their vision.

KENNEDY DESOTELL

Graduation Date Spring 2020

My degree is Communication Studies with a co-major in University Honors and a minor in Sport Management. For my future plans, my professional goal is to work for a major publishing company as a book editor.

I’m a communications major with a minor in PR, I hope to one day work for a nonprofit. I feel I am most fulfilled when I am helping others.

I'm currently a senior majoring in communication studies and minoring in public relations. I plan to attend law school in fall 2020 with interests in immigration, corporate, and real estate law.

Communication studies major and psychology minor. My intentions are to join the human resources field and work towards obtaining certifications within conflict resolution and mediation practices.

Dr. Stephanie Tong

Stephanie Tong is an associate professor in the communication studies area. Her research interests lie at the intersection of interpersonal communication and new media. Specifically, she studies how people initiate, maintain, and terminate relationships using popular social media systems.

Kelsey Mesmer

Kelsey is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Communication at Wayne State. Her research lies at the intersection of organizational communication and journalism, with a focus on resilience, feminist media, and organizing for social justice initiatives.
